Smt strange journey redux2/19/2023 ![]() In the original title, the mysterious foreboding of the game’s locales felt more filled in by your imagination than anything else- the game itself didn’t give you much to go on either way. Unlike the visual overhaul for Radiant Historia on the 3DS, which alienated some fans of the DS original, the visual upgrades here seem to be undoubtedly for the better- the moody and otherworldly atmosphere of the Schwarzwelt, the geological anomaly you set out to investigate as part of the United Nations’ strike team corp, is enhanced here, feeling more oppressive than ever before. Everything feels cleaner, crisper, and just better looking overall. Immediately upon booting the game up, you will understand how massive a visual leap the new title is over the DS original.
